Both Dr. Kokabi and Dr. Basu grew up with mothers who were teachers, so we’ve seen firsthand the dedication, patience, and heart that go into shaping young minds. Dr. Basu’s mother has worked in Forsyth County Schools for 19 years, supporting children with special needs. Dr. Kokabi’s mother-in-law taught in Gwinnett County at Grayson Elementary for over 20 years, and his mother worked as a high school teacher overseas before teaching preschoolers in Tucker after moving to the United States.

At Brookhaven Family Dentistry, we make it easy for teachers and school staff to use their existing dental benefits. We work with most of the dental insurance companies used by local school systems — including the plans commonly offered through DeKalb County Schools (United Concordia), Fulton County Schools (Delta Dental), Cobb County Schools(MetLife), and Gwinnett County Public Schools (MetLife Dental), as well as many private schools throughout the Metro Atlanta area.
And yes, we know that Gwinnett County’s MetLife plan can be a little funky and confusing — we get it! Our team is very familiar with how those plans work and can help you get the most out of your coverage.
While we’re listed as an out-of-network provider, most cleanings, exams, and preventive services are still covered at 100 percent. Our team takes care of the insurance details for you, so managing your dental benefits feels as easy as grading on a curve 😊
Through our Brighten Your Smile, Better the World campaign, we support causes that align with educators’ values — from literacy programs to children’s healthcare organizations and local charities. We’ve proudly partnered with local schools including Montgomery Elementary, Ashford Park Elementary, Chamblee Middle, Huntley Hills Elementary, and Chamblee High School.
